Our pre-school camp represents an area of particular expertise at Mohawk. For decades we have been educating children ages 3-6 in the nursery school and kindergarten of our own Mohawk Country Home School. Our understanding of the needs and potentials of very young children has enabled us to create an outstanding pre-school program. Activities are appropriate for the children's abilities, attention spans and emotional development. Barbara Schainman, Co-Director and Carole Bouchier, "Little Camp" Division Director, are particularly skilled in working with pre-schoolers and their parents. Barbara is the Home School's Educational Director and Carole is its Principal.
Most staff members from the Mohawk Country Home School, including
our Principal, Mrs. Carole Bouchier, join other carefully selected area nursery
school and kindergarten teachers to lead Mohawk's popular preschool camp. Our
youngest campers enjoy programs and specialties separate from our older campers.
They benefit by a 3 or 4:1 staff-child ratio. Our understanding of the emotional
needs, physical abilities, and developmental stages of pre-schoolers has enabled
us to create this outstanding summer experience.
